Form & Abstraction
The Abstract Expressionist Movement is undeniably my greatest influence. Like jazz and baseball, it is true Americana. I find the aura and emotion of jazz musicians and abstract painters of that era to be interwoven.
My fascination with birds began as a child, and undoubtedly, birds are subject matter I know best. The moment I incorporated birds on the canvas, I became intrigued with the relationship between form and abstraction.
Quite simply, I approach each canvas with the intent to express the grace, the vulnerability, and the texture of a Miles Davis solo.
